The novel Born Under A Lucky Moon, while fictional, is based on real life events in my life. The story that takes place in 1986 is largely true. It noodled around in my head for decades until I knew I had to write it down just to stop thinking about it. I did compress some events to fit into a specific time frame.

380 of you guys on Goodreads! We apparently generally like fiction: young adult and classics.
You can read the first chapter of the book on Scribd. I love that service, it works flawlessly and has a great audience. Of course you can also read it (and more) here as before but the Scribd interface makes it super nice to read it there.
I also did a fun interview with Linda Weaver Clarke which you can read on her eponymous blog.
Finally, the book got a nice shoutout as a great summer beach read on Deb Bailey’s Facebook page for woman entrepreneurs.
It looks like this summer will be a sunny one for Born Under A Lucky Moon!
“I was recently able to read the first couple of chapters online, and am already hooked, so I can’t wait to read the rest.”
This is more of a “pre-review” from West Michigan TravelingMom at TravelingMom.com but a full review is coming soon and I will be sure to post a link to let you know what they thought of the book.
“I found the perfect summer read in the novel Born Under a Lucky Moon by Dana Precious.”

“Do I recommend Born Under a Lucky Moon?! You are darned right I do!! This is the perfect story to lighten one’s day and engage the reader from beginning to end. My personal experience with the ending of the story? A huge smile, as I closed the book after reading the final words.”
Another great review! This one is from Cafe of Dreams.
And a little video shot by my husband at the signing and of me reading from Born Under A Lucky Moon.
Some pictures from the very successful (and fun!) book signing at Barnes & Noble in Santa Monica, CA on 2/17.
“Dana Precious has written a first novel that is a fun interlude for her readers who can hope that she will continue writing and refining her craft. Born Under a Lucky Moon is definitely a worthwhile choice for someone who wants to escape the day-to-day tediousness of life into a world that is unpredictable and a bit zany.”
Another good review! Read more at Suite101.
